This is one of the areas Mrs. Lenie R. Castañeda was struggling with.
She was a law graduate and master’s degree holder, a former faculty member of UP Cebu, and a former legal assistant at International Justice Mission (IJM) turned government employee.
Yet CBN Asia’s Ministering to Ministers (M2M) helped her a lot in this area of struggle, and in many other ways, when she attended their conference on July 22, 2016 in Dipolog City.
Her story before M2M
“Our marriage has been difficult from the start until that day. It’s an uphill battle for both of us. We have been dealing with a lot of issues, individually and as a couple. Besides that, we are raising our three kids, who are very young.
I thought I was the good one.”
After the M2M Experience, here’s what she has to say
“Through Ministering to Ministers, God showed me my heart and my attitude. I have been critical and argumentative. I nagged. I complained. A lot of things has to be changed.
M2M reminded me that my husband is a prize from God, a reward from Him. The Lord taught me to submit to my husband: revere him, respect him, nurture him, encourage and build him up.
Because I have a difficulty with it, I needed to surrender it to God. I learned – in subjection, I have adjust myself beside him. It is an affectionate, and cheerful subjection too.
Pastor Peter and Sister Christine provided us with a model of how it is to have a Christ – centered marriage.”
To a Better Marriage
“M2M was used to change me and transform me to be the wife that my husband needs and deserves.
The Bible and the books given to us helped me in our faith, to strengthen our marriage. It allowed me to grow in my walk with God, to put Him first and have the proper priorities in life. It encouraged me to pray. It helped me to humble myself before God. To ask His help to submit and respect my husband. I learned to admire my husband, to be loyal to him and deeply love him.
M2M was God’s way to heal our marriage. When we made Jesus Christ the center of it, God redeemed, resurrected and made our marriage thrive. The renewal of vows allowed us to renew our commitment to God and to each other, to God be all the glory!
We also started to have meaningful conversations. I can say that since that day, our marriage is better. Truly, marriage is an orchestra, like a symphony, we are working together in – sync and we are growing in the Lord.
As a volunteer in VCF Dipolog City, M2M encouraged me to serve God with joy as the joy of the Lord is my strength.”
